KFW Engineers & Surveying utilizes GIS tools to generate reports, databases, and online services to help with planning and design implementation for Residential Development, Commercial Development, and Government Services. The GIS Department uses ArcGIS to populate and illustrate city, county, state and, federal datasets. The GIS department uses ArcServer to showcase several different data sets online allowing the user to gather information about a parcel of land and make informed decisions. KFW Engineers uses GIS software along with AutoCAD to provide support for all engineering projects from site selection and data gathering to construction management and final data as-builts.
KFW offers clients multiple ways of data transfer, such as an onsite FTP service, a secure courier service to pick up and drop off hardcopy data, and a high capacity email service. We are familiar with and capable of receiving a multitude of data types, including those used in Autodesk products, Microstation, HEC-RAS, Microsoft Access and Excel, ESRI geodatabases and shapefiles, Google kmz, as well as raw data files for Leica and Trimble GPS units. By combing our extensive engineering and surveying experience with the latest ESRI GIS software, we create and manage all of our datasets to the highest level of accuracy and precision.
We use a combination of our accumulated project data along with City, County, State and Federal datasets to include:
- City Limits
- County Limits
The datasets are used to provide support for all engineering projects from the site selection and initial planning stages to SWMP reports, WPAP reports, CAD conversions, and tree mitigation exhibits. We build custom datasets specific to project needs while continuously growing our database.
Our database is available through ArcServer giving the KFW team and clients the ability to view data through desktop and mobile devices in and out of the office.
