KFW's GIS Department was excited to sponsor & participate in this year's Alamo Area GIS – Second Annual Professional GIS Conference alongside COSA, SAWS, CPS, VIA, SARA, NPO and other local firms.
The Alamo Area GIS Users Conference was KFW's opportunity to demonstrate our new & powerful data visualization platform. Our GIS Department staff were happy to talk with interested attendees and explain our services in a way that makes sense to everyone. We also took this conference as an opportunity to re-launch KFW's Business Intelligence Tool in a setting where people could explore the capabilities, interact with the spatial data, and ask questions. Be on the lookout for the next GIS blog post for a link to the free edition of the Business Intelligence Tool site!
Our GIS staff attended several information-packed presentations covering topics such as business intelligence, community engagement in civic programs, and event-based public safety. These topics might seem un-related; however, they speak to the breadth of problem-solving capabilities that GIS services can provide.
This year's Alamo Area GIS Users Conference emphasized that GIS is a much larger beast than just map creation, and sponsoring this event created a space for KFW's GIS Department to have focused and genuine interaction with other GIS professionals.
We had a great time and look forward to next year!
