Gabo Andonie - Employee Spotlight!
Gabo is still a relatively fresh face around the office, but his impact and positive attitude is rapidly spreading. As an Assistant Project Manager he assists our residential department while also offering his Hydrology & Hydraulic experience when needed. We are greatful to have him as a new leader, & as someone our EITs/Techs can speak to on a sincere level.
What do you like most about Civil Engineering?
The thing that I like most about the civil engineering, or land development in general, that it is a way to cast a fingerprint on the planet. It is always a great feeling to drive by a completed project and know that your hard work helped build that subdivision or that building. I also like how civil engineering teaches you to look at things that are pretty mundane to most people (things like fire hydrants or curb inlets) in a completely different way, almost like appreciating their individual role in the overall design of a project.
Before working at KFW, what was the most unusual or interesting job you've ever had?
I was a D1 student athlete (swimmer) through my 4-years in college. Didn’t really get paid but it taught me a lot about teamwork, perseverance and time management.
Gabo is extremely hardworking & dedicated. He is a great leader & always holds a positive attitude. Thanks for being motivating & inspiring! - N. Alatorre
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I love being outside with my family and dogs. Hiking, biking, sitting- it’s time well spent if you are surrounded by people you care about.
Any advice for the aspiring Civil Engineer?
Don’t be afraid to be a generalist. Learning to see the “big picture” of the development process and being able to zoom in to the technical design portion of the job is an invaluable skill to have in our industry.

- Favorite Thing About KFW: The people here are not only industry experts but are also always willing to drop everything and help you.
My wife and I did a 3 day hike in Machu Picchu last December after I graduated with my MBA. Both the hike and doing a masters while working almost killed me, but I am glad I can sit here and tell the story.
